The Editor, Sir:Port Maria in St Mary is the worst place to be in the parish when rain falls. The problem of flooding in the parish capital is not new. Yet, the problem persists. There must be a solution to this nagging problem.
The Port Maria Primary School is flooded every time rain falls over a prolonged period. Access to the town itself is usually blocked from all angles. It is amazing that people continue to use the town under such circumstances.
Whoever is responsible needs to find a solution quickly, as this is obviously one of the contributing factors that hinder development of the parish capital.
Talk is cheap. It is time for action. If not an already dying parish capital - with such a rich history - it will eventually give up the ghost.
