Ministry to revise CSEC payment
published: Saturday | September 6, 2008

GOVERNMENT WILL, this year, continue to pay for students to sit four subjects in the Caribbean Secondary Education Certificate (CSEC) examinations, but has warned that a review of the payment scheme is coming.

Education Minister Andrew Holness told The Gleaner following the Rotary Club of Kingston's weekly luncheon on Thursday, that provision has been made in the budget this year to pay for CSEC mathematics, English language, information technology and a science subject.

"We had made a commitment to revise it and that will be done," Holness said. He, however, did not give a date for the review.

The Government has been paying for students to sit the four subjects since 2002.
