THE EDITOR, Sir:
Please give me a small space in your column to extend a few words of encouragement to all our teachers beginning another school year. Most of us are aware of the challenges that face our teachers.
Let us ask the Lord to prepare them and make them strong when the tasks of life seem hard and long during 2008 and beyond. I hope our teachers will keep in mind these words, "Lord, Thy Will Be Done".
Let us pray for our teachers:
My God, My Father, make them strong,
When tasks of life seem hard and long,
To greet them with this triumph song
Thy will be done.
Draw from their timid eyes the veil,
To show, where earthly forces fail,
Thy power and love must still prevail,
Thy will be done.
With confident and humble mind,
Freedom in service they will find,
Praying through every toll assigned,
Thy will be done.
Things deemed impossible they dare,
Thine is the call and thine the care,
Thy wisdom shall the way prepare,
Thy will be done.
All power is here and around them now,
Faithful they stand in rule and vow,
While its not they but ever Thou;
Thy will be done.
Heaven's music chimes the glad days in,
Hope soars beyond death, pain, and sin,
Faith shouts in triumph, love must win;
Thy will be done.
Amen.
