Embryo of corruption
published: Wednesday | September 10, 2008

The Editor, Sir:

I listened to the leader of the Opposition in her address to a recent delegates meeting and ended up feeling very disgusted and disappointed.

In her response to whether delegates were being offered money to vote she exhorted them to take the money and when election day comes they should vote for her in order to protect the democratic rights of the people of this country. What rubbish is this exuding from the mouth of our political leader?

When will she understand that most Jamaicans are tired of the corruption, crime and violence that plague our nation? When will she realise that this is where it all begins? It is the 'the embryo of corruption'.

Put what she encouraged the delegates to do under the microscope and what will you see? The likes of: the Iran sugar deal scandal: The Shell waiver scandal; The Trafigura scandal: The Cuban light bulb scandal; The NSWMA scandal and the list goes on.

Madame Opposition Leader, we are tired! In the name of God, clean up your act and give our children something respectable to emulate.

I am, etc.,

OWEN CLARKE
