Wrigley's now has a new slim pack and the taste is even greater. - Peta-Gaye Clachar/Staff Photographer

Are you someone who loves to chew gum? Chew on this, Wrigley's now has a new slim look and tastes even better.

CariMed Limited, distributor of the tasty treat, has introduced gum chewers to a wide array of gums. Now, chewers can be in gum heaven with a choice of new flavours, Cobalt and Rain. Also, the Extra Fruit Sensation which has been on the market a while now, has a longer lasting fruity taste. Good old Double Mint, Winterfresh, Extra, Spearmint and Polar Ice, all have new, fancy looks.

Each pack contains 15 sugar-free sticks of gum. The new envelope packaging provides overdue innovation and excitement to the stick form. Stick packaging has not been structurally altered since 1964. This new packaging addresses the key consumer issues with current stick packaging - discreet dispensing, product protection, compact size, and durability. The slim pack also increases portability.

Great tasting

The Extra Fruit Sensation line now delivers a longer, great tasting fruit flavours. Best-in-class, the fruit flavours focused on the rapidly growing fruit segment of the market.

The new packaging reinvents and contemporises the Extra brand in the mind of its consumers. Also, evolutionary graphics increase brand appeal and stand out at retail outlets.

Tasting comments:

Extra Fruit Sensation (watermelon): I give the sweet water melon-flavoured gum two thumbs up!

It's refreshing. Love the smell which comes at me before I even taste it.

Love it, and it lasts even after several minutes of chewing. That's a big plus. Thumbs up.

Island Cooler: A toast to its fruity and longer-lasting taste. Love the pineapple flavour. It is not too sweet, quite nice.

Cobalt:

Minty and refreshing flavour, should give other products on the market good competition.

Initially sweet and flavourful but it quickly loses its flavour and becomes dry.

Tastes like it sounds, bland. In fact, cobalt reminds me of gum that has been in your mouth too long.

Slightly minty but not enough for me.

Strawberry banana

Quite fruity, not overly sweet but definitely had more of the strawberry than banana.

It tastes good, even though I don't like gum, I would definitely buy it.

It is a bit on the fresh side.

It's sweet. I can't believe that it is sugar-free. I like it though and I like the fullness.

Tastes nice and fruity, love it, would definitely buy it.

Rain

Pleasant minty flavour.

It tastes a little like spearmint gum. It's icy and cool. It's not bad.

It's not harsh and, although it is sugar free, it's not too fresh or sweet. Very easy to chew.

Nice sensation. Not too minty. However, it's a tad sweet.

Breezy, flavourful and not sweet.

Berry Paradise

Just fruity, there is not one distinct taste.

Fabulous, I would buy it for sure I really like the fruity taste, my kind of thing.

Lovely flavour and the smell is very appealing.

I like it- it tastes good.

Reasons why people chew

Some people chew because it is a habit but there are others who use gum for the following reasons:

1. Pop ears during flying.

2. Breath freshener.

3. Ease nervousness.

4. Aid in digestion process.

5. Decrease in the urge to smoke.

6. Relieves upset stomach.
