Mother was raped
published: Thursday | September 18, 2008

The Editor Sir

I would like to lend my support to this woman. I am sure she will not be the last, as this thing has been going on for a long time, My mother was raped and the result was my birth. She was 13 years old. That was 54 years ago. I thought my mother hated me, and it was my grandmother who brought me up.

Highest level

When my birth was registered they put my mother's age as 18. No father was on it. If it was not for my faith, I would not be the person that I am today. It is about time something is done. I will pray for this excellent woman and I hope she takes it to the highest level so that others who are thinking of raping someone will think again.

I am, etc.,

Mrs Bell
