Xavier Marshall is numbered among 29 players who were named by the Ruddy Williams-led selection panel to represent Jamaica at the upcoming regional four-day and one-day championships.
Marshall, who was recently axed from the Stanford 20/20 Superstars squad for reportedly failing a drug test, was one of 10 recognised batsmen who were called to the squad.
The 29 players, including a mixture of tried-and-tested and new players, will begin preparation for the four-day championships next week Tuesday, while preparation for the one-day championships will begin on October 18.
West Indies regulars Chris Gayle, Jerome Taylor, Daren Powell and limited-overs specialists Damion Henry, Gary Graham, Dwight Stewart and Ransford Merchant will join the training squads on October 18.
Among the experienced players selected are Marshall, Brenton Parchment, Danza Hyatt, Brendon Nash, Lorenzo Ingram, Donovan Pagon, Shawn Findley, Donovan Sinclair, Tamar Lambert, Jamie Trenchfield, David Bernard Jr, Andrew Richardson, André Russell, Krishmar Santokie, Carlton Baugh Jr, Keith Hibbert, Odean Brown, Wayne Simpson, Dennis Bulli and Nikita Miller.
The inexperienced and relatively new players include Nkrumah Bonner, Yannick Elliott, André McCarthy, Shacoya Thomas, Jason Dawes, André Dwyer, Ricardo Dacres and Akeem Dewar.
