Champagne and chocolate affair
published: Monday | September 29, 2008

Jody surprised Kerone with a wedding proposal on November 3, 2007, before family and friends who were gathered for his mother's 50th birthday party at her home in Tanglewood, St Ann.

Eight months later, champagne and chocolate was the theme of the exquisite garden ceremony and reception for Jody Lee Jackson and Kerone Patrice Barnett, on Saturday, July 26, at the luxurious gardens of Breezes Runaway Bay Golf Club in St Ann.

Garden ceremony

The garden ceremony and reception were held on a cool and beautiful afternoon with more than 200 people, family and friends, including the Custos of St Ann Radcliff Walters, his charming wife and Member of Parliament Shahini Robinson. The stunning bride was in an exquisitely beaded ivory-coloured wedding dress and the handsome groom was in an ivory and chocolate suit.

They were flanked by their 14-member bridal party, elegantly adorned in chocolate-and-champagne-coloured dresses and suits. The groom's father, Wade Jackson, was his proud 'better man'. The bride's father, Lukie Barnett, beamed proudly as he escorted his eldest daughter up the aisle to the melodies of a saxophone.

Later in the ceremony, Kerone serenaded her husband with Stevie Wonder's Ribbon in the Sky, backed by the saxophonist, and the release of 25 butterflies.

The fabulous evening concluded with the bride and groom dancing to the timeless wedding song, She Wears My Ring, followed by dances with the parents and bridal party.

The newly-weds spent their honeymoon on an exotic Eastern Caribbean Cruise.
