It all began as an act of courage, courage on a personal level to redirect my life at age 50 and courage that Kingston would embrace an innovative idea that would include a broad cross-section of the dining public.
Armed with optimism, determination and a passion to see Kingston's landscape flourish, I have watched the event grow to include 35 restaurants, leading major corporate sponsors and international recognition and most important, to have evolved into a highly anticipated and enjoyed event by close to 20,000 diners. The enthusiastic collaborative efforts of all players have been a model for success and I hope in some way, an inspiration to people to work towards a vision with energy and excellence.
My vision remains the same for the future, that of being part of our tourism initiative to place Kingston on the world stage (along with our athletes and musicians) as a culinary destination blessed with the spice of our heritage. In the coming years I would like to work towards building synergies between cuisine from other countries and our own with the idea of taking Jamaica's unique 'taste and style' international.
