Etana inspires fans with music
published: Saturday | October 4, 2008

Etana - Contributed

Though it was off to a late start on Tuesday, the online and phone chats with September STAR of the Month Etana were successful.

The singer spent time speaking with fans all over the world via the Internet, and locally, via telephone.

However, many fans used the opportunity to praise 'The Strong One' on her "beauty" and "wonderful voice that conveys powerful music".

Locally, fans called to ask Etana about her hair, inspiration for her music and tattoos. Etana also gave advice to aspiring artistes and teens facing peer pressure.

At the end of the session, a pleased Etana said: "I think it was cool. I could go on for hours, if I had the time. It is always good to talk to people, who are just curious, and to communicate with my fans."

Some calls that stood out, in Etana's mind, included a boy who called to tell her that it was his birthday and she sang for him. Another girl called to tell Etana that she inspired her.
