ELMONT, New York (CMC)Jamaican jockey Rajiv Maragh regained third spot in the Belmont Park Fall Meet standings with two wins on Thursday.
Maragh landed races five and six to reclaim the No.3 spot from Eibar Coa, who went winless on the nine-race card.
Edgar Prado is leading rider with 21 wins, followed by Javier Castellano (18) and Maragh (16), with Coa fourth on 15.
Huge upset
Maragh registered a huge upset when he captured the US$35,000 fifth race over six furlongs with the four-year-old gelding Mondo Diverso.
A 31-1 bet in the six-horse field, Mondo Diverso stalked the leaders early and outgunned the favourite Coastal Drive (6-5) under leading rider Prado in the run to the finish to win by two lengths.
Mondo Diverso stopped the clock in one minute 10.86 seconds.
Maragh defeated more fancied rivals again as he won the US$23,000 sixth race over a mile with the three-year-old gelding All the Way Home.
