Every day feels like Friday when you dine at TGI Friday's; you forget your stress as you enjoy a scrumptious meal in a relaxed setting.
General manager, Narda Green said that people have the concept that TGI is an expensive restaurant but, when they come in they are very surprised. "Many people thought that the restaurant only caters to the upper class, but last year during The Gleaner-sponsored Kingston Restaurant Week (KRW), they realised that our prices are very affordable and now they are regular customers," said Green.
She also notes that she looks forward to KRW every year. "KRW gives diners a chance to eat out and explore the variety of food at the different restaurants so they will continue to support it."
Laid-back and fun
TGI's setting is very laid-back and is suitable for the entire family. The décor has a collection of entertainment and sports memorabilia. The waiters and waitresses are always energetic and friendly and offer service with a smile.
From time to time, the restaurant loves to mix up the menu and allow customers to try some new and exciting dishes. For Independence weekend Green notes that they will be having a special jerked chicken and festival to coincide with the festivities. They now have a shrimp with ribs combo and a Jack Daniel's burger on the menu. Also, the Cajun pasta is a big hit.
Green said the restaurant has been doing well and recently one of their bartenders placed fourth in the World Bartending Competition. She said this year people have really caught on because reservations are flooding in. She is excited and awaits the week's activities as well as meeting new customers.
