Shaw hospitalised
published: Thursday | October 9, 2008

Shaw

Finance Minister Audley Shaw was said to be recovering and in high spirits last night, though he was kept in hospital overnight for observation.

Shaw fell ill during a special meeting with Prime Minister Bruce Golding yesterday afternoon and had to be rushed to the University Hospital of the West Indies.

"Ken Baugh and Horace Chang, who are both medical doctors, were there and they felt out of an abundance of caution that we ought to move him to the University Hospital where he could be properly tested and observed by the medical team," Jamaica Labour Party general secretary Karl Samuda told The Gleaner.

He said Shaw did not collapse or lose consciousness during the ordeal.
