Ricketts
The life of Janique Ricketts, one of 12 persons who received the Governor General's Achievement Awards has been anchored to community service.
The 29-year-old graduate of the University of the West Indies, Mona, is currently a medical intern at the Spanish Town Hospital.
She has plans of pursuing a residency in family medicine.
Ricketts also holds a first degree in engineering from Howard University in Washington, DC.
It was during her time at Howard that Ricketts became involved in community service.

The mother of a six-month-old son told The Gleaner that after returning home from the United States, she made a commitment to herself to contribute to her country positively.
As a member of the Circle K group at the UWI and the Delta Sigma Theta sorority, Ricketts was engaged in extensive community service.
She participated in numerous projects with a range of organisations, including the National Children's Home, Jamaica Environment Trust, Blood Bank, Jamaica Amateur Athletic Association, SOS Children's Village and the Kiwanis Club of North St Andrew.
