Shaw still in hospital
published: Friday | October 10, 2008

Shaw

The ailing minister of finance and the public service, Audley Shaw, remained in hospital up to late yesterday evening.

Shaw fell ill during a special meeting with Prime Minister Bruce Golding on Wednesday afternoon and had to be rushed to the University Hospital of the West Indies, where he was admitted.

He was transferred from the Tony Thwaites Wing to the intensive care unit yesterday to undergo more tests to determine the cause of his illness.

Minister of Foreign Affairs and Foreign Trade, Kenneth Baugh, said despite his ordeal, Shaw remained in high spirits yesterday.

"He is quite normal right now, but he is under investigation," Baugh said.

The People's National Party (PNP) also expressed best wishes to Shaw during his illness. Party Chairman Robert Pickersgill said the PNP was concerned and hoped Shaw would recover quickly.
