Vale Royal all set for tonight's gala
published: Friday | October 10, 2008

Vale Royal

The homecoming gala dinner hosted by Digicel in honour of the outstanding Olympians will take place at Vale Royal, St Andrew, tonight.

The Gleaner has learnt that catering will be done by Ciao Bella and event planners say the theme will be black and gold. However, the cocktail station will be in keeping with the dominant Digicel colour, red. Wray and Nephew will take charge of the bar.

Four-course meal

Dinner will be a four-course meal with hors d'oeuvres and servings for the 650 guests expected. The meal will feature a Jamaican theme with modern and contemporary touches.

Feast for the stars includes: Shrimp canapé with ginger aioli, pumpkin bisque, splashed with aged Gold Medal Rum, caramelised brown sugar plantain, roasted and caramelised banana and piña colada shaped like the Olympic Medal and garnished with raspberry coulis and crème Anglaise, all ably prepared by Ciao Bella.
