Tough draw as Reno leave STETHS
published: Friday | October 10, 2008

SANTA CRUZ:

THERE WERE mixed emotions yesterday as Reno said goodbye to STETHS as their borrowed home venue of the last two years, following a hard-fought 1-1 draw with Boys' Town.

Reno's technical director, Wendell Downswell, confirmed the side would now return to Frome for home games, starting with next Sunday's scheduled game against Harbour View.

Cheers all the way

Expectations of a final 'home' win might have been hindered by the makeshift forward line comprising regular midfielder O'Brien Woodbine and Gary McIntosh, Boys' Town's unbeaten status and Reno's own inauspicious start, but the fans turned up and cheered them all the way.

Fittingly, Reno's sprightly first-half performance was capped by the conversion of a magnificent free kick by captain Nicholy Findlayson in the 29th minute.

The 1-0 lead at half-time was short-lived as Boys' Town equalised through Peter Keys in the 57th minute.
