I am trying to locate a dear friend who I lost contact with, nearly 20 years ago, after I emigrated to England. He is Norman Anderson, also known as Longman. He is a relative of Neville Redwood. He was a driver during the 80s, on a route from Kingston to Montego Bay, where I was living at the time. I know he lived, originally, in Patrick City and later moved to the Red Hills area.
If anyone knows his whereabouts or any member of his family, I would be grateful if they could contact me or pass on this message.

Careless pedestriansMost times a pedestrian is killed in an accident, many persons, as well as the media, seem to blame the motorist . We all know that many of our motorists drive recklessly on the roads.
However, many times, pedestrians, adults and children alike, are very irresponsible in the way they use the road.
Often, we see pedestrians choosing to walk in the road, rather than use the unobstructed sidewalk, and also cross the road anywhere they choose to rather than using the pedestrian crossing.
On many occasions, I have witnessed pedestrians crossing at traffic lights when, clearly, the light is on green.
Parents must emphasise to their children how to use the roads but that, at times, is difficult when some parents are worse.
Motorists need to take more care on the road but many pedestrians are just as culpable in these situations.

On the job
The present Government made a pledge on their campaign trail to stamp out corruption in the public sector, now we hear of exemptions from standard procurement procedures for a number of public sector companies, thereby creating a breeding ground for corruption.
There should be no favouritism. All public entities must follow the rules. I would suggest that Mr Christie is simply doing his job.
