Walker's courage
On reading the expressions of Mr Walker on Gleaner Online, I thought to myself, finally. Finally someone with the guts to challenge the idea that it is only the police and politicians who are corrupt.
Finally, there is a civil servant with the courage to call a thief from high places a thief. Because, make no mistake, these people are stealing from all the honest people who are paying their taxes and obeying all the country's laws. And, finally, does Jamaica not have a law against submitting false documents to a legal entity, such as the Customs Department? If no, why not?

Thanks, Reverend
I thank Rev Dick for his caution against these prayer charlatans. Too many people are being deceived by impostors who are bombarding the airwaves with erroneous teachings.
It's time for people to recognise that God is no more than a prayer away; and even if we cannot express ourselves fluently, God knows the burden of every heart and will choose what is best for us. Keep up the good work reverend. I always read your column. I can do all things through Christ, who strengthens me.

Anxious in diaspora
Some of us citizens of Jamaica living overseas are anxious to return home but are afraid to do so. So I have written to Prime Minister Bruce Golding asking him to start to do something drastic to straighten out the murder capital of the world, Jamaica.
I have told him that there seems to be nowhere that is safe in the island. The two major airports are infested with criminals waiting to see who is coming home to ambush and take away most of their belongings. In view of the murder rate, why is the death penalty not resumed. An emergency meeting should be called with the Cabinet, police, military and church leaders to discuss the situation.- James Thomas

From the Bird's Nest
It all started in Beijing, China, when the Bird's Nest opened and out flew three little birds, that were from Jamaica. I was like a kid in a candy store, I was so happy and proud when Bob Marley sang that song, Three Little Birds.
Now we know he was talking about these wonderful ladies, Shelly-Ann Fraser, Sherika Williams and Veronica Campbell. Kerron Stewart and all the rest of the Jamaican girls, I tip my hat to you all. Your performance was outstanding.
