Thwaites stands tall!
published: Tuesday | October 21, 2008

The Editor, Sir:

I agree with the article in Monday's Gleaner with the headline 'The gavel must drop' Provocation is no excuse! Ronald Thwaites has indeed demonstrated that he is a gentleman with a good background. I have always had high regard for him because of that, even though I often disagree with some of his ideals.

On the other hand, Bartlett has demonstrated that his background cannot measure up to the standards of Thwaites, setting a bad example for many of his followers. As the writer pointed out, we need to show respect for one another and it should be displayed in Parliament.

Thwaites stands tall when he apologised. Bartlett should emulate him!

Thank you, Ronald Thwaites, for being the gentleman that you are. you make Jamaica proud!

I am, etc.,
