Sense of pride
I watched the 2008 National Awards Ceremony on television with great delight and admiration. The ceremony seems to get better with time. Oh, the salutes by the uniformed groups were done with such precision and agility; the women were not to be outdone by the men. Everyone looked so smart, sartorially elegant and sharp.
My heartiest congratulations to all the awardees, especially Leroy Hall, who served the Cornwall Regional Hospital with distinction for many years. I felt a renewed, terrific sense of pride and love for my country as I watched. May we, as a nation, recommit to take care of our fellow citizens, in this our Jamaica land we love.

On doctors
Thanks, Dennie. You've voiced what hundreds of people are not able to express in the way you have said it. You should email this article ('When doctors play God') to the Medical Association of Jamaica and all the relevant health authorities and doctors. Fortunately, I am in relatively good health and don't have to venture too much into these dens of misery. I've never really given the issue any thought until now that you have mentioned it.

I agree
Responding to 'When doctors play God'. As a nurse, I truly agree with you. A lot of health-care providers believe they can't get sick or they are better than their patients which they are in the profession to serve. Thanks for bringing some attention to the behaviour.

Not deserving
I am in total agreement with the Pastor Terrence Brown. I would be willing to take the job. Hanging might not be a deterrent, but it sure will take these antisocial beings out of their misery. Can someone tell me why such heartless murderers should breathe the same oxygen decent, hard-working, loving people breathe?

Sympathies
My deepest sympathies to the parishioners of death penalty preachers Al Miller, et al. These men of God should be charged for torturing their captive congregations.
