Guests of United States Ambassador Brenda LaGrange Johnson and her husband Howard sure had their musical appetites satisfied last week Friday.

On the grounds of the US Embassy, LaGrange Johnson hosted associates and friends at her monthly noontime concert. This, according to the ambassador, has been the fifth held so far.

Some of her closest associates and family members from as far as New York were treated to the professional and superb performances by violinist Jon Williams, pianist Alexander Martin-Blanken and singer Andrew Lawrence. For the first half of the show, both the violinist and pianist took charge as they did renditions from various musical genres.

For the latter half, singer Andrew Lawrence wowed the audience with his strong, soothing voice as he belted out hit songs from James Ingram to Bob Marley. Their performances earned them a standing ovation at the end of the show.

We saw: Chinese Ambassador Chen Jinghua and wife Xiao Linhua, David Hitt, visiting from New York, Kathleen Brenner, Beverly Levy, Ruby Martin, Madge Barrett, among others.
