Breeders' Cup begins today

Today's racing at Doncaster and Fakenham in England takes a back seat to the first leg of the 2008 Breeders' Cup Carnival at Santa Anita in California, USA.

Track Price Plus will be offering bets on the fives races on simulcast from Santa Anita today and all nine Breeders' Cup races tomorrow, including the meet's showpiece event, the US$5 million Breeders' Cup Classic to be contested by 12 starters. Included in the line-up are last year's winner CURLIN, now the leading all-time stakes winner in American racing by virtue of winning the Dubai Gold Cup earlier this year, unbeaten CASINO DRIVE, GO BETWEEN and RAVEN'S PASS, CURLIN, to again be ridden by Robbie Albarado for trainer Steve Asmussen, is the 7-5 ante-post favourite, followed by RAVEN'S PASS at 6-1, GO BETWEEN 8-1 and CASINO DRIVE at 10-1.

Filly & Mares Sprint

Track Price Plus will beam the races live as part of today's English racing programme (also tomorrow's), beginning at race 35, the Breeders Cup Filly & Mares Sprint to be run at approximately 2:35 p.m. (California is two hours behind Jamaica time.)
