The Gleaner 'Rolls Out'
published: Monday | October 27, 2008

The Gleaner's first ever Roll Out took May Pen by storm last Saturday at the Denbigh Show Grounds.

The all-day event saw live performances from several artistes as well as kiddies attractions.

Not even the intermittent showers could put a damper on the proceedings.

An autograph signing session and a brief performance by STAR of the Month Busy Signal accompanied by the Magnum Girls topped off the day for a number of kids.

The night, however, was for the dancers as the resident sound Super C and selector Pennybling from the Bembe Squad provided the latest dancehall hits.

New artiste I Octane made his presence felt with an excellent set of his latest hits including Stab Di Vampire. The sole female artiste on the show Ce'cile had the crowd in her hands, the female patrons loved her as they screamed out for her Waiting and Ride or Die. Dancer Mystic followed, looking nice in purple, she showed Denbigh the lithe moves that have made her so popular in the dancehall.

A gospel act Goddy Goddy, followed in her Micheal Jackson-like move and instantly had persons got off their seats. A veteran in the business Goddy Goddy had the audience singing to his latest songs. He teased "a so much singers down here". While Rising Stars Romain Virgo took the stage with young females flocking to the front.
