The Editor, Sir:I take note of the prime minister's comment in Parliament regarding communities not taking care of children.
While I agree with that comment, I must point out the Government's failure in not taking care either.
I am particularly disturbed by the fact that the public transport on which our children have to rely are allowed to keep and play these sound systems in the buses loudly playing sexually explicit songs to our children.
Then, we come on national television and radios and speak about carnal abuse and rape.
It is full time a law that gives the police and/or the transport authority the right to remove these sound systems from our public transpor-tation, anywhere and at anytime, is passed.
On the other hand, we are a nation that loves to cover up and everybody is doing it. So, something must be wrong with me for making an issue with it.
Anyone accountable?
Finally, isn't the playing of sexually explicit music and/or DVDs in public transportation a form of sexual abuse?
How come the powers that be are not doing anything about it?
Shouldn't the Government be held responsible and accountable for this under the Child Care Protection Act?
We all have a part to play and we are all guilty of the mess that this country is in as it relates to our children.
I am, etc.,
