Rotary moving to start EarlyAct clubs islandwide
published: Monday | November 3, 2008

In a bid to instil basic values and responsibilities in primary and preparatory school children, Rotary Clubs across the island are moving to implement an EarlyAct Club.

Chairperson Lisa Rennalls said the mini service club is aimed at children between the ages of five and 13.

Leadership skills

She noted that the aim is to find young leaders and equip them with leadership skills.

The Club is sponsored by a local Rotary Club from the community in which the school is located. It engages the young students in character-building activities, preparing them for leadership roles to identify and carry out projects which benefit their school local and global communities,

Sponsors

The Kingston Rotary Club sponsors EarlyAct Club at Dunrobin Primary School.

Rennalls said EarlyAct is a national project for the Rotary Club and will be implemented in other clubs across the island.
