Reach out
Yvonne Nelson, chairperson for the Jamaica Red Cross' Care Committee, said the voluntary organisation decided to reach out to members in the inner-city communities, as some shy away from going to the public health facilities because of the length of time they have to wait.
Members of the Jamaica Consta-bulary Force were also on hand to educate people about the various methods that people use to transport narcotics.
Entertainment was provided for the children and Lasco Group of Companies was on hand to provide healthy drinks.
Meanwhile, the Jamaica Red Cross has praised car company Avis, for loaning it a bus to continue its meals on wheels delivery programme, after the organisation's bus was stolen.
Meals on wheels caters to some 100 persons in inner-city communities in Kingston.
