Three teenagers have gone missing in Portmore, St Catherine.

Peta-Gaye Thompson, 15, and siblings, Yanique Bryan, 14, and Ravil Bryan, 13, were last seen Friday evening. The Bryans and Thompson are neighbours of Waterford in the parish.

The Sunday Gleaner has been informed that Yanique and Peta-Gaye left home about 5 p.m. for an undisclosed location.

The Bryan's family have assumed that the girls met upon Ravil while on their way and he accompanied them.

Kameal Bird, a sister, tried to maintain calm when she relayed the story to The Gleaner yesterday.

"There is no reason at all why they would not have come back home," she said.

The Waterford police confirmed the incident and is investigating the case.

At the same time, a 12-year-old girl from Portmore reportedly concocted a story about being abducted.

The police said the child lied to avoid being punished for reaching home late from school.

The 12-year-old girl had told her guardians that scratches on her body and a missing school bag was as a result of eluding her abductors. The girl said the abductors had grabbed her and taken her in a vehicle.

Karl Angell, director of communication for the Jamaica Consta-bulary Force, disclosed yesterday that after medical examination no evidence was found to confirm assault.

Following this, the girl admitted to the police that the story was a hoax.
