WESTERN BUREAU:

A distinctive character combined with the delicate nature of oak, sensations of banana, apples and toast; all in the 2005 Trivento Chardonnay.

Even the wine served during Half Moon's Ambassador Awards gala dinner separated this elegantly exclusive resort from its counterparts, as it celebrated in style with some 250 travel partners and well-wishers last weekend.

Acknowledging the unwavering support of its partners in the resort's success, the hotel presented bronze, silver, gold and platinum awards to several recipients, with the coveted Founders' Award going to Airtours International, Rich Worldwide Travel and Villa Leisure.

The three-day festivity commenced on Thursday with a welcome reception, an awards gala on Friday and a 'fête like you can't fête no more' beach party on Saturday, thumped by the sounds, percussion and rhythm of Errol Lee and the Bare Essentials.

There was so much for the AAA Diamond Award Half Moon to celebrate near the close of 2008, its Fern Tree spa being hailed as one of the 'Hottest New Spas' for 2008 by the editors of Conde Nast Traveler. The resort's Green Team achieved Green Globe Silver Certification and two of its team players, Wordsworth Watson and Alford Anglin received accolades for 50 and 40 years of service, respectively, to the Half Moon family.

He carries the name Nunn, but John Nunn was no saint as he got close to Jennifer Hilton.
