The fourth annual Gleaner-sponsored Kingston Restaurant Week (KRW) is off to a great start, and no rain can dampen the parade of Jamaican diners.

The restaurants have minor complaints and turnout gets the thumbs up. Here is the feedback from some of the participants.

Cuddy'z: It's going very good during the week and the coming weekend things will hit a high note.

Gimbilyn: The new kid on the block has some nights fully booked, like last night, and Friday is set to be fully booked as well.

The Hilton's Palm Court is also looking really good with bookings, so hurry if you do not want to miss out on the fabulous offerings.

Just down the road from the Hilton, Pegasus' Columbus Restaurant has been having good nights.

Redbones the Blues Café on Braemar Avenue describes the turnout as fabulous so far, with a full house expected tonight, Friday and Saturday.

You don't have to go to the ends of the earth to get great food but Strawberry Hill comes pretty close. Turnout has been excellent and they are fully booked every night.

TGI Friday's has been fully booked for the week. It was the same at Whitebones on Saturday and Sunday, and they are expecting a full turnout on the weekend.

The Regency Room at Terra Nova All-Suite Hotel is doing well and has nothing to complain about, although numbers are down from last year.

At East Japanese things are going extremely well. They have been having packed nights, especially last Friday. "It was insane," said Richard Foster, supervisor. But they still have openings for upcoming nights.

Jewel of India: The numbers are down from last year overall and there are many cancellations. But individual nights like Tuesday and Saturday were good.

Norma's on the Terrace is having good houses despite the rain, according to owner Norma Shirley, and she is reminding customers to keep their reservations.

Carlos' Café is keeping an open mind. Reservations could be better. The inclement weather and threat of more rain have caused some patrons to cancel their bookings.

Habibi Latino and The Bird's Nest Restaurant and Bar are two of the establishments affected by rain, but both have strong bookings for the weekend and are anticipating good business.

China Express has reported good numbers, Saturday being the best. It's also still getting reservations by the day, but is leaving space for walk-ins.

Melting Pot Restaurant: KRW is a tremendous success and the feedback received by diners reflect this, says Alrick Sucki. Between now and Saturday, the final day of KRW, no more space is available as it is fully booked.

Prendy's on the Beach: Reser-vations are still available for the remaining nights of KRW. Supervisor Margo Pullen says the feedback has been good.

Mac's Chop House: This year's KRW is apparently another success for Mac's Chop House, despite the many last-minute cancellations. Manger David Machado says while the restaurant is fully booked, persons can call and enquire if a space becomes available due to cancellation.

Kabana Restaurant: Patrons are enjoying themselves. KRW is going smoothly and there is still space for reservations.

Café Aubergine: Taricek Wint says KRW is not going too badly for Café Aubergine, despite many cancellations, especially last weekend when it rained. Reservations are still open.

Grog Shoppe, Kabana and Dragon City Restauraunt are in the Savoury category at $1,600 per person.

Remember to check out the clubs, such as The Quad, Villagio and Acropolis, for your after-dinner entertainment.
