Defending female champions and league leaders, University of the West Indies (UWI), will be idle this weekend, but male kingpins Vikings aim to take over sole leadership in their section as the Jamaica Volleyball Association leagues continue at G.C. Foster College.The UWI, leaders with nine points, were scheduled to play Viqueens, who are unable to play this weekend.
Meanwhile, Vikings of Westmore-land will try to add to their six points when they face Jamaica Defence Force (JDF) in division one action at noon today.
Venus, who like Vikings are on six points, await UWI A in the key match-up, also on today, at 4 p.m.
In tomorrow's feature contest, Vikings tackle Venus at 2 p.m.
Meanwhile, in results from midweek, UWI A defeated University of Technology 3-0 on Tuesday while on Thursday, Mico Old Students' Association beat UWI B by a similar scoreline, both in women's action.
In the lone men's game, UWI outscored the JDF 3-1.
