Do you think that the Jamaica Labour Party should have cancelled its 65th annual conference activities following the shooting incident at the National Arena on Sunday?

Cidella Shaw, 17, student:

I think that they should have cancelled it. I don't think that it was safe because they weren't paying a lot of attention to people's safety and the fact that a person died and they carried on like it didn't mean anything.

Winston Hall, 49, security officer:

The conference should have carried on, but they needed more security and they should have searched all who were going in.

Joan Brown, 56,self-employed:

They should have continued because they still had the conference, so it was best for them to finish it.

Clayton Downes, 35, district constable:

To the stage that they had reached, it would have been best to just carry on. I don't feel that what happened should have affected the conference because it would have given criminals and evil wishers victory.

Everton Senior, 46, plumber:

Nah, man, it shouldn't have. But the way that things are going on, we should have expected anything. They should just be more careful next time and carry out searches.

Percival Rose, 17, student:

"Personally, I agree with them carrying on and addressing what happened but not taking any political sides. I thought it was disrespectful to the Prime Minister, whether it was a security force that fired or a gunman or civilian. There should not have been any firearms at such an event like that. If it was a police-man he should lose his work and if it was a civilian he should spend some time in prison."
