Youth: engine of change for brighter future
published: Thursday | November 27, 2008

Today, The Gleaner presents the views of Audrey Hinchcliffe, chairman and CEO of Manpower & Maintenance Services Ltd, on the positive traits of Jamaica as a nation.

Jamaica is blessed with bright, enthusiastic and beautiful young people. They have embraced entrepreneurial thinking, creativity abounds and, with encouragement and mentoring, they may very well be the engine of change for a brighter tomorrow.

Training opportunities are available in the formal and informal education sectors. With an economic curriculum in schools, a stimulating and fun environment, young people, when exposed to the right programmes, concepts of business, entrepreneurship and money management, the brighter tomorrow will be in good hands.

They can be guided by good policies and experienced business people to choose a programme or a key strategy which will be a best fit fortheir areas of interest, particularlyin low-income communities.
