Businessman and pageant coordinator extraordinaire, Lachu Ramchandani, hosted a little shindig to kick off the festive season at Club India, last Friday. But, at the heart of the event was a salute to Justice Mahadev Dukharan, on his appointment to the Court of Appeal.

Justice Dukharan said he didn't know he would become a judge, much less one at the highest level of the judiciary in Jamaica. He thanked his wife Ann-Marie for her devotion and support, even with the long hours he sometimes spends on the job.

So, with the official part of the proceedings out of the way, it was time for fine Indian cuisine and thirst-quenching libations.

Guests out included Lincoln and Barbara Robinson, their son Marcel, Trisha Thompson, Stephanie Lumley, Samara Martin, Shawn Tulloch-Phillipps, Mexican Ambassador Leonora Rueda and daughter, Itzel, Devon Reid, Lloyd Distant Jr, Roy Banarsee and Sheila Lockett.
