A gospel concert dubbed 'Necessary War' held at the Portmore Lane Covenant Community Church last Friday night, made a strong appeal to dozens of non-Christians.
Two ministers of the gospel, Evangelist Donovan Beersingh of Portmore Missionary Church, who spoke after the praise and worship segment, and Howard Roach of the host church, who spoke at the end of the concert, both made appealing altar calls. On both occasions, dozens came to the altar and received prayer as the preachers encouraged them to accept God in their lives.
On the night, three mega gospel artistes, Judith Gayle, Jason Mighty and DJ Nicholas, witnessed to the audience through music.
Gayle rushed onstage to Design to Worship, before stepping into Conqueror and later prophesied that the Messiah as the Bigger God.
Mighty performance
Mighty did a short set to make way for DJ Nicholas' music ministry and testimony.
Mighty's set included his hit song 'Ketch a Fire' with his brother, Prodigal Son.
When DJ Nicholas came onstage he was met with an outpouring of applause.
Combination tune
DJ Nicholas called Jason Mighty on stage and the duo did their hit single Want one soul. He also belted out lyrics from Round Here (... 'We don't want no drugs round here'), 'Back 2 d Owner', and Naa Bow, a combination tune with Kevin Downswell and Jermaine Edwards. However, Downswell and Edwards were not in attendance.
