Saving our 'seed royal'
published: Wednesday | December 3, 2008

The Editor, Sir:

Have we recognised the magnitude of the achievements of our athletes for the year? Are we as a nation truly aware of the dominance we can take for another decade or two in the field of athletics?

Well, something came over me Sunday at church as the minister preached about saving the seed royal (in other words, the royal seed). The thought was take from 2 Kings 11.

All through the message, all I could see before me was the killing of our young children. A next Usain Bolt, a next Asafa Powell, a next Veronica Campbell-Brown, and the list goes on and on, as we are a powerhouse on the field. But the reality is this, we need to save our 'seed royal', the Government, the churches, the entertainment sectors and all well-thinking Jamaicans need to pool our resources together to save the seed royal.

Let's wake up and realize that there are people who are rejoicing to see that we are killing our seed royal. Satan, we rebuke you in the name of Jesus Christ, take your filthy hands off God's property. Let's arise and save our seed royal. Eternal Father, continue to bless our land.

I am, etc.,
