The Editor, Sir:United States President-elect Barack Obama is currently electing his team to lead America. There have been calls for him to appoint black personalities to a majority of the key positions in his government.
Despite having the power to elect whoever he wants, and despite being black, Senator Obama should not give a listening ear to these calls. On the campaign trail and in his victory speech, he promised to bring change to America. Appointing only black people is not the change to be made and is not the change America needs.
People must be reminded of the fact that Obama can be assassinated by just being black; appointing only black is committing suicide. Seriously speaking, appointments should not be made because of skin colour; instead, they should be made because of one's capabilities and willingness to work.
Obama appointing a mixture of both blacks and whites is a clear indication that he is really about change. All he now needs is as much support as he can get and he will definitely bring change to America. 'Yes he can, yes he will'.
