What it's about: Proving that romance, friendships and sex never go out of style, the women of the hit HBO series Sex and the City reprise their roles as Carrie (Parker), Samantha (Cattral), Charlotte (Davis) and Miranda (Nixon) in the movie version of the ultimate chick-flick comedy. The movie picks up where the series left off, with Carrie still in love and still with her enigmatic boyfriend Big. Miranda is married to Steve, Charlotte is living a picture-perfect life with husband Harry and Samantha is living in Los Angeles with her boy toy Smith.

Things seem to be going well for the ladies, but as with every episode of Sex and the City, things are never as perfect as they seem. These successful and beautiful women just can't seem to have it all, and even though they are well past their 20-something days, life throws them the same curve balls it usually does. Things begin to unravel, especially for the protagonist Carrie.

Long story short: No one is perfect and life is even less so. The ladies learn that finding the perfect love or the perfect man is a quest that results in a lifetime of frustration. The women deal with the various challenges in typical fashion: lots of wardrobe changes, shoes to die for and heartening and humorous girl talk. They prove that when all else seem to fail, true friendship endures.

There are many humorous moments throughout the film, but the humour is expertly woven into the greater dramatic moments.

The Reel Low-down: Sex and the City is a keepsake film for the women who value friendships and who love men, and for the men who love them back. It's a great gift on DVD.
