As everyone makes his/her own critique of the woman who reportedly abandoned her child to go an entertainment event permit me to add my opinion.

So many times we hear of mothers leaving their children behind and their getting burnt to death in a fire. We also hear many stories of mothers leaving their children locked in the house to go to work, the shop or do some sort of errand.

In this case, this woman reportedly made a stupid decision to abandon her child for a night of happiness. The police are now seeking legal advice to charge the mother.

The question I must ask, however, is: Where is the father of this child? Clearly, this woman could not get pregnant by herself. Every time an incident like this occurs we lambaste, criticise and punish the mother.

Fathers need to understand also that they are to be held responsible. If they were being held responsible then they would think twice before they abandon their children with their 'babymothers'.
