PORT-OF-SPAIN, Trinidad (CMC):

Promising teenager Darren Bravo is delighted with his current form that brought him a hundred in the Pizza Hut/QPCC Gerry Gomez Cricket Classic on Sunday.

Bravo stroked 113 and was the principal scorer in the North team's first innings total of 289, striking the ball well in his first competitive outing in over a month.

"I am happy with my form," said the left-handed Bravo.

"Basically, it was my first competitive game since the West Indies Cup tournament in Guyana, because most of the local trial matches were rained out," added Bravo, the younger brother of West Indies all-rounder Dwayne Bravo.

The West Indies Under-19 standout was getting his second consecutive century in the Classic, having scored 103 in last year's contest at the Oval.

The 19-year-old brought up his century with a towering six over the long-off boundary against the off-spinner Amit Jaggernauth.

He batted 251 minutes and faced 152 balls in his knock, which was enriched with nine fours and two sixes.

Bravo, the second most-prolific West Indies batsman - behind Nevisian Kieran Powell - at the 2008 ICC Youth World Cup in Bangladesh in February, aspires to get into the West Indies senior team set-up.

He is targeting a fruitful regional first-class season and has title hopes for T&T.

"I want to remain focused and help my country win the regional tournament and also to keep my name on the lips of the regional selectors," Bravo said.
