  • Kudos for Christian radio

Kindly grant me a little space in your newspaper to say congratulations to 'Back To The Bible' for its 50 years of Christian ministry in Jamaica and the wider Caribbean.

Thank God for the vision given to the late Theodore Epp, Ord L. Morrow and George Christian Weiss, for the Caribbean to spread the good news of salvation.

Let me extend special appreciation to all those Jamaicans who helped to make 'Back To The Bible' what it is in Jamaica and the Caribbean, especially Dr Billy Hall, Oswald Easy, Horace Campbell, Donahue Collash, Wilfred James, Barrington Laing, Icilda Roach, Hyacinth Richards, Audrey Gayle, Lorna Samuels, Beverly Cunningham, Fern Anderson and Bridgett Martin.

I must say thanks to RJR, Love 101 and the defunct Jamaica Broadcasting Corporation.

'Back To The Bible' has weathered many storms, but, through God, it has always been victorious.

  • Appeal to fight AIDS

Kindly grant me space in your newspaper to make an open appeal to charitable organisations to join in the fight against HIV/AIDS in Jamaica.

The growing level of infected persons and loss of lives, particularly among our young, is a cause for great concern.

This alarming trend has significant implications for the health and productive sectors in our economy and, as a consequence, should not be taken lightly.

Someone who is close to the Clinton Foundation should try to make contact to see what help can be obtained to partner with other organisations like Scotiabank to help raise the consciousness and bring about meaningful changes to the lives of so many who are hurting.

  • Careless 'bulldog'

Recently, I spoke to a Jamaican man in his 40s who told me that sex was his hobby and that he had fathered 11 youths.

When I asked him if he knew their names, he was troubled by a sense of guilt. So he pulled from his pocket a wallet from which he took a sheet of paper.

Then he began to read their names. What would have happened if this man had used condoms.

Now 'bulldogs' like these should be taken off our streets and castrated before they are allowed to rejoin civilisation.

It is little wonder that this country has a group of young men who call themselves 'na live fi nutten crew'.
