Ronald Panton, chairman of the Kiwanis Club of Mona, gives a section of the home a well-needed coat of paint.
Mustard Seed Communities' Martha's House, a home for children living with HIV/AIDS, got a facelift for the festive season.
Sections of the home, including the bathroom, living room and dormitory, were repainted in bright hues on December 20. During the facelift, a door was also installed at the entrance to one of the bathrooms at the home located on North Street in Kingston. The much-needed repairs were carried out by a combined team of six Kiwanis clubs: St Andrew, Eastern St Andrew, Constant Spring, Kingston, Mona and Meadowvale.

The service organisations also installed an electrical fan, and donated other items such as pressure cookers, bed linens and mattress covers.
The facility houses about 29 children who are cared for by the non-profit organisation. The workday project was one of the many engagements that the Kiwanis District of Eastern Canada and the Caribbean will undertake in its quest to raise awareness of HIV/AIDS.
