We need more Ernest Smiths

Congratulations to Ernest smith, on his brave forthright, honest statement in Parliament recently. We need more Ernest Smiths in the House. We will not tolerate gays in Jamaica. Ship all these sick gays to the UK, USA and Canada promptly.

Our children are already confused. We do not need the gay lifestyle to further confuse our families. We have traditional woman-to-a-man families and now these gay groups nationally and internationally are trying to impose their lawless, corrupt and low-life attitudes on our Jamaican society.

We must stand firm with MP Smith. Gays should not be allowed to be MPs, serve in the Cabinet, teach our children or be police officers.

All gays in corporate Jamaica, and in government should be fired immediately.

Disparaging remarks

How dare MP Ernest Smith make such disparaging remarks about the gay community and the police force? The MP should know that Jamaican law enforcement is a necessary arm of our government. What loose comments and blatant disregard for the safety of our lawmen!

Mr Smith, you need to straighten up and apologise to the police force. Your words were unprofessional.

Inequities in education

As I reflect on the Jamaican educational system I am sickened at some of the inequities that need immediate attention. Among the problems to be addressed are:

The lack of equipment, teacher / student ratio; little regard for principals and vice-principals of primary schools; schools without nurses etc.

The aims of the Grade Six Achievement Test (GSAT) will not be met if the inequalities mentioned above are not dealt with.

Don't pressure gov't

This is not the time to ask the Government for a salary increase. The Nurses Association of Jamaica (NAJ) and other civil servants must look at what is happening in the global arena and change their attitude.

The world is going through a challenging time. We have to put our face to God and ask him to bless not only Jamaica but the rest of the world. Civil servants are finding it hard as are people in the private sector.

Jamaica is still doing well compared to other counters whose net international reserves and GDP are better then ours. So that tells you that God is still working with us.

This is not a time to point fingers at the Government and say that it is incompetent.
