A good all-round performance from Nkrumah Bonner helped crown Mico University College champions of the Inter-Collegiate cricket competition, when they beat College of Agriculture Science and Education (CASE) in the final.

CASE, who won the toss and decided to bat, posted 194 for nine from their allotted 40 overs. Mario Smith, 51, Everton Cammock, 42, and Craig Morris, 37, made the bulk of the runs for the Portland-based institution.

Bonner and Ricardo Ennis, with three for 37 and three for 33, respectively, got most wickets in the Saturday showdown at Mico University College.

When the men from the Marescaux Road-based institution replied to CASE's score, Mico batted well to reach 197 for six, Bonner following up on his good bowling performance with a well-played 79.

Cordel Cockings, 45, and Zeniffe Fowler, 24, also made fairly decent contributions for the champions. Yuckaria Vassell was the main wicket-taker for CASE, claiming three for 14.

Mico booked their spot in the final after winning division one of the competition. That division included teams such as G.C. Foster College, University of the West Indies (UWI), University of Technology (UTech) and Brown's Town Community College.

CASE gained the right to meet MICO in the final after topping division two last month, following victories against Bethlehem Moravian College, Church Teachers' College, Knox Community College, Montego Bay Community College and Moneague College.

The previous all-island champions were Knox Community College, who had also won the division two competition last year.

They defeated then division one winners, G.C. Foster College.
