Boys' Town's Peter Keyes was the toast of the Flow's Champions Cup knockout competition's awards ceremony, which was held at the Jamaica Football Federation (JFF) office in New Kingston yesterday.

Keyes, who scored one of the three goals in his team's 3-0 victory over archrivals Tivoli Gardens in the final, which was played at the Anthony Spaulding Sports Complex, copped the Most Valuable Player (MVP) award and $70,000.

"This award is just a motivation for the hard work because coming out of the pre-season I told myself that I was going to work really hard and now it has paid off for me," said Keyes, the former Vauxhall High Manning Cup stand-out.

Keyes added that his main focus now is to win the Premier League's leading goalscorer award. He currently trails Devon Hodges of Rivoli United by four goals.

"My aim is always to win major awards and this season I came prepared to grasp one of the top awards and to win this one I am feeling great because I have always believed in myself," said an elated Keyes.

Jermaine Anderson of Waterhouse, Gary McIntosh of Reno and Rivoli United's Valentino Gardener and Hodges, shared the leading goalscorers' award for the competition. Each scored four goals.

Boys' Town collected the winning trophy and $600,000 for their effort.

Tivoli Gardens took home the second-place trophy and $300,000, while Waterhouse and Rivoli United each collected $150,000 for making the semi-finals.

Duhaney Park, which knocked out a number of big teams, earned the Fair Play award.

Sharon Roper, marketing director of Flow, said her company is happy to have been associated with an outstanding tournament.

"I am extremely pleased to be here to recognise what has been an outstanding tournament with great football action and superb organisation, both on and off the field," said Roper.

"It has been a rewarding three months and we have certainly accomplished a lot despite the challenges along the way.

"I think that overall the Flow Champions Cup has been extremely well organised and we're proud to be the title sponsors," added Roper.
