Saints net Dolphins to take Super Cup lead

Defending champions St Catherine Saints secured the only win in the rain-hit third round of the Jamaica Cricket Association Super League competition, to jump to 10 points.
They now hold a one-point lead on second place Melbourne Kangaroos.
Following Odean Brown's five second innings wickets, which restricted Hanover Dolphins to 187 at Jarrett Park, Keith Hibbert, batting at number four, struck an unbeaten 47 as the Saints reached the target of 114 for the loss of five wickets.
Brown had also claimed four wickets in Hanover's first innings of 125.
At Kirkvine in Manchester, rain cruelly prevented Melbourne from achieving maximum points and the league lead after being set a mere 58 for victory in a game highlighted by miserable first innings totals.
In fact, Melbourne were poised at 22 for two when rain rendered play impossible shortly after 2 p.m. Melbourne had to settle for first innings honours when their 108 bettered Manchester Lions' 92 all out.
Manchester would fare even worse in the second innings, labouring to 74 in 41 overs as Yannick Elliot preened himself with five wickets. Fast bowler Denver Passley grabbed the first three wickets of the innings.
Manchester's escape secured a crucial point which kept them in the league title hunt in third place on eight points.
Trelawny Buccaneers would also suffer at the hands of the weather as it dampered the sterling allround performance of Barbadian Ryan Hinds. Hinds followed up his 122 in his team's 300 for six declared to snare four wickets, as St Elizabeth struggled to 130 for six.
Kingston Tigers and the Westmoreland Wizzards had to share a point each as rain failed to settle any first innings advantage. From an overnight position of 199 for four, the Tigers capitulated to 248 as Chadwick Walton added just one before he was bowled by Grenadian Andre Fletcher for 95. Uriel Samuels posted the best single innings bowling figures of the weekend, taking six for 79.
Fletcher who took two for 34, then scored 32 as the Wizzards' run-chase was cut short at 82 for two.
