FRIENDCAM - More than friendly

Shanique James and David Sirjue.
Shanique James and David Sirjue are a mirror image of the movie poster behind them. They seemed like just friends at first but after chatting with them, we realised they were a bit more than pals.
1. How did you two meet and when did you know being just friends was not enough?
Shanique James (SJ): One day I took the wrong bus home and I had to walk past David's house to get home. He was outside with his friends and both his female and male friends called out to me and tried to play matchmaker, querying if I would stop and talk to David. We exchanged numbers and we became friends.
David Sirjue (DS): I knew I wanted Shanique more than just a friend after meeting her for one year. This happened after my bike accident and I was surprised that she thought I was cute after being in a cast. That was the icing on the cake and I knew she was the one.
2. Did anything change now that the friendship moved to another level?
SJ: Yes, things did change. At first, he was a bit cocky to me, his personality just seemed somewhat overconfident but when we got into a relationship I found out that he was the sweetest, kindest person I have ever met.
DS: After getting serious, I thought of Shanique as my soulmate and I started to develop strong feelings for her.
3. Is there one thing you would change now that the friendship has moved to another level?
SJ: I would not change anything at all.
DS: With Shanique I cannot see what I would want to change.
4. Who is the dominant one?
SJ: David is the dominant one but it is only manly dominance. Naturally, he is dominant, because he is the guy. It would be weird for me if I were always the one taking the lead.
DS: Well, I always think of us as equals but Shanique likes it when I make decisions for her. (Sometimes women cannot make up their minds, he said, laughing.)
5. What does the future look like for both of you?
SJ: I've always wanted to get married and have kids. David would make the perfect husband and father in my eyes. As for the future, when I am finished with college and have a steady job, I would like to start a family.
DS: I always say to Shanique that it is time for me to settle down, so in the future I see Shanique and I getting married and having a beautiful family.
