(1) I don't know if Matchbox designed this vehicle on its own, but it has not credited any auto manufacture for its design. It simply states 'utility truck'. It reminds me of a Ford F-650.

(2) The Volkswagen Beetle was the car to drive in the '60s. It played a relevant role in a time when peace and harmony was promoted throughout the world, especially in North America. How can I forget to mention its unorthodox design, which was intended to sustain high speeds on the German autobahns.

(3) This is a car Jamaicans are no stranger to. It's the BMW 328C. BMW has been producing 3-series models since 1975 and it has been a hit ever since. Motorauthority.com recently reported that BMW has outpaced Lexus to become America's top-selling luxury brand. This was mainly due to the sales of the 3- and 5-series.

One of the most important things about summer is to make it worthwhile and memorable, so there's no better time to start a hobby. It doesn't have to be anything expensive; it may even be something as simple as collecting phonecards.

I have always loved cars, whether antique or modern. From the mechanism of how they function or unique design, nothing revs me up like motor vehicles. With the current gloomy state of the economy, perhaps the closest I will ever come to owning any of these cars is these miniature replicas.

Abbreviations: R - reasonable, Avg - Average, L - Lame, OTW - out of this world, MTE - Much too expensive, SLG - Scarce like gold, TGT - Too good to be true.

Affordability:

(R) There are different scale factors relating to the models. These are 1:58. Each of these toys should cost you less than $1,000.

Fun factor:

(OTW) There are so many models to choose from, you are going to get confused in the process.

Future relevance:

In a couple of years, production will cease on each model and they will become SLG. Hence, the longer you own a model, the more it becomes a collector's item.

(4) The X5 is BMW's first super SUV produced in 1999. Since then, it has grown in popularity and prestige. Its main rivals are the Lexus RX 300 and Mercedes M Class.

(5) The Jeep Wrangler gained much popularity in the late '80s and early '90s. It was the Hummer of its time, making several cameo appearances in many rappers' music videos. The truth is, this vehicle has earned its stripes. Literally! This was the vehicle United States soldiers drove in World War II.

(6) Introduced in 1996, this car received star status when it was featured in the James Bond film 'Goldeneye'. It's classified as a roadster, which means it was built to be manoeuvrable and fast. Unfortunately, many persons were unimpressed with the 138 horsepower it packed.
