Jamaicans are generally satisfied with the work of the Electoral Advisory Committee (EAC), according to the findings of a poll commissioned by The Gleaner. In recent weeks, the EAC and the Electoral Office of Jamaica (EOJ) have been coming under intense criticisms for a number of problems, mainly those relating to the voters' list. These criticisms have been levelled mainly by the two main opposition parties, the Jamaica Labour Party (JLP) and the National Democratic Movement (NDM). According to the latest poll, conducted by Don Anderson and his team of pollsters from Market Research Services Ltd., 28 per cent of the 1,000 persons interviewed across Jamaica's 14 parishes said that the EAC has done a good job in planning for the December 18 parliamentary election. This view, said Mr. Anderson, was consistent across all the demographic groups evaluated. The poll was conducted over the period of November 26 and December 3 and has a margin of error of plus or minus 3.4 per cent.
