THE SANDMAN (No. 6), one of three winners for champion jockey Trevor Simpson, wins the neck and neck duel with 7-5 favourite DR. RSF (Robert Reid) by a short head to land the seventh race over the straight five course, at odds of 7-2, on Wednesday at Caymanas Park. THE FIRST race in tomorrow's Racing Pools could pose problems with three recent winners IN RED LADY, BLOODY MARY and PROUDEST NATIVE around, but on the score of consistency the one to beat is POINT GUARD.

To be ridden by title chasing jockey Clive Lynch for trainer Paul Campbell, POINT GUARD advertised his well being on March 28 when a fast-finishing third, beaten only a length by SIR CAT over the straight five course.

In an earlier race, he failed by a nose to catch PAY PER VIEW over 1100 metres and with the distance of 1200 metres just perfect, should get up in time to catch the speedy RED LADY (sure to lead) and BLOODY MARY, who beat a good field over 1100 metres last Saturday.

Next on the programme is a one mile race for the Louis Hitchins Memorial Cup to be contested by eight horses from the $200,000 - $180,000 claiming group.

Indications are it will be keenly contested, with the likes of CLASSY TANYA, TRICKY DICKY, SILVER WEDDING, CIRCLE DE THRONE and GANADOR all in with good claims.

CLASSY TANYA will no doubt lead and although suspect at a mile, has the services of champion jockey Trevor Simpson and should not be under-estimated.

RUNAWAY VICTORY

The improving three-year-old colt TRICKY DICKY led home SHE'S A RANKING over 1500 metres recently and with the runner-up having paid tribute to the form with a runaway victory in her subsequent race, his chances must be rated highly among claimers.

Still, the one best equipped to pull it off is the grey SILVER WEDDING, who beat a good field over 1400 on March 28, his rivals including MAN OF STAR and GANADOR who renews rivalry tomorrow.

Back in action from the convenient mark of 48.5kg and in-form apprentice Paul Francis aboard, SILVER WEDDING should repeat.

QUEEN'S PAL, who found only CYCLOPS too good over a mile recently, is tipped to go one better from her favourable outside draw in the third race for maidens over the straight five course.

This lightly raced 4-y-o filly by America's Pal out of Lady Pearl has been kept on the move at exercise and should win from LOREN C, MOTHER OF PEARL and JUSTIN JORDON.

MY PAL DON, having caught the eye at exercise and running on Lasix for the first time, looks the horse to beat in the fourth race over 1400 metres, despite the fact that he's up against such proven campaigners as MAN OF STAR (recent winner), ROYAL FLIGHT (regaining form), MR. LONGINO (reports in good condition), MISSISSIPPI MARCH and GATLIN (nice outsiders) and of course, PRINCE ALEXANDRA (running fairly well).

However, MY PAL DON has so much going for him on this occasion that he can only drop the catch.

ROYAL RUN, who went down fighting against COURT CASE over 1200 metres last Saturday, should prove hard to beat when he reports for the fifth race over 1400 metres in the overnight allowance class.

The 4-y-o gelding from the stables of champion trainer Wayne DaCosta is better for last Saturday's pipeopener and with the additional furlong to his liking, should win from old rivals CAPTAIN BLIGH, THE SEVENTH WAVE and FROMAJACKTOKING.

The last three races should be won by SEEINGISBELIEVING, YYESSBABY (running on Lasix) and CHICO. Their respective dangers are STACKA, JUICE and AMERICAN HALO.
